Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) at Ihala School
Primary school children in Raisio have the opportunity to receive their basic education in English Ihala School. Teaching in the language classes is based on the CLIL method and it follows the curriculum and the language-class supplement to the curriculum at Ihala School. The language classes are geared toward children who speak Finnish as their first language. Children who wish to study in a language class must possess sufficient skills in the Finnish language. Pupils must take an aptitude test after which they are chosen to study in the language class. The test takes place each year on Tuesday of the 7th week (February). Pupils must also take an entrance examination when they transfer to the secondary school (grades 7–9).
