The method involves teaching in the pupils\u2019 mother tongue and in a foreign language, both of which form an integrated whole.<\/p>\n<p>Teachers use the language that best suits a particular purpose and situation. All subjects can be taught using the CLIL Method except the mother tongue, i.e. Finnish. Language is therefore not the target of learning, but a tool to use in studying.
