Kuparivuori School offers pupils the opportunity to study in English enrichment classes in grades one to six. Each grade has one English enrichment class where ca. 25 % of the teaching is done in English. English is used alongside Finnish as the language of learning in all subjects except Finnish. Parents who wish to have their children in the English enrichment class must apply for it when they enrol their child(ren) in school.<\/p>\n
Grades 1\u20132<\/strong><\/p>\n Language learning is very functional and aims at creating a foundation for oral language skills. Grades 3\u20134<\/strong><\/p>\n As language skills develop, more and more teaching is carried out in English. \nTeaching focuses on understanding English and producing spoken English.<\/p>\n
\nAll of the central themes in each subject are taught in Finnish. Learning is then enriched using the English language. Pupils are encouraged to use the foreign language in numerous situations and to have confidence in what they already know.
\nFormal English studies (A1 language) begin in the 3rd grade.<\/p>\n
