This makes it easier for the kitchen to anticipate food consumption.<\/li>\n<li>Buy waste food sold at a cheap price at the school cafeteria after lunchtime.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000\">Transport<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-106\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.edu.turku.fi\/kekeperehdytys\/files\/2023\/08\/Arjen-kestavyystoimenpiteet-kuvakkeet-02-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"124\" height=\"124\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If possible, commute using your muscles or public transport.<\/li>\n<li>Favour carpooling with colleagues coming from the same direction.<\/li>\n<li>Remember the bike helmet!<\/li>\n<li>In the dark season, remember to use lights and reflectors. transport or bicycle or on foot.<\/li>\n<li>Consider accessibility issues when selecting the venue.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that arrangements have been made for disabled parking near the main entrance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Invitations and communication<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the invitation, provide information on which are the most convenient public transport lines\/departures to take to the venue. Encourage participants to use public transport or come on foot or by bicycle.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate clearly if the event is accessible and remember to mention if the venue is not accessible to all.<\/li>\n<li>Remember to provide clear guidance at the venue. Take also care that the signs are in distinctive colours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Catering<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In catering, favour climate-friendly, healthy products produced locally.<\/li>\n<li>Minimise waste and sell or donate excess food where possible.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid using disposable dishes and provide tap water instead of bottled water.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Waste management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimise waste generation: avoid disposable products and avoid distributing unnecessary materials to participants.<\/li>\n<li>Enable sorting of waste and guide participants in sorting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000\">Summary: actions\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Remember that even small actions matter! Choose the actions that suit you and implement them.
